Identify Your Temposonics Sensor
Upload a photo of your sensor label to read and decode the part number instantly. Our engineers will then verify the identification and respond with a full specification and quote within one working day.
How to Identify Your Temposonics Sensor
Temposonics magnetostrictive position sensors are used in thousands of machines across Ireland, the UK, and worldwide. When a sensor needs replacement, particularly during unplanned downtime, fast, accurate identification is critical. Identify your sensor by uploading a label photo or by requesting manual engineer review.
Finding the Sensor Label
Every Temposonics sensor has a product label containing the part number, serial number, and key specification data. The label location varies by product family:
- R-Series V & R-Series, The label is on the sensor head, near the cable exit or connector end. On rod-style sensors, it's typically on the cylindrical housing.
- G-Series V & G-Series, The label is on the profile housing, usually visible from the top or side of the extrusion.
- E-Series, The label is on the compact housing near the electrical connection.
- T-Series, On mobile hydraulic sensors, the label may be on the sensor head or on a separate tag attached to the cable.
What Happens After Submission
- Automatic Analysis, Our system reads the part number from your image and cross-references it against our Temposonics database.
- Engineer Review, A Temposonics-trained engineer at Emolice verifies the identification.
- Response, You receive an email with the full sensor specification, current availability, and a quotation if required.
When You Can't Find the Label
If the label is completely destroyed or missing, you can still help us identify the sensor by providing:
- The machine make and model where the sensor is installed.
- The approximate stroke length (measure the active rod length).
- The electrical interface type (SSI, analog 4–20 mA, CANbus, etc.).
- The connector type (M12 8-pin, M16 7-pin, cable outlet, etc.).
- Any partial numbers or markings visible on the housing.
With this information, our engineers can usually narrow the identification to a small number of possible part numbers and recommend the correct replacement.
Alternatively: Use the Decoder
If you can read the part number yourself, use our Part Number Decoder to instantly decode the full specification without waiting for a response.
Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of photo should I upload?
A clear, well-lit photo of the sensor label showing the part number, serial number, and any specification markings. The label is usually on a silver sticker near the cable exit or connector end.
What if the label is damaged or illegible?
Provide as much information as you can, even partial part numbers, the machine it's installed on, approximate stroke length, and the interface type help our engineers identify the sensor.
How quickly will I receive identification?
Most identifications are completed within one working day. For urgent requests, call our team directly at +353 1 568 6556.
Can you supply a replacement once identified?
Yes. As the official Temposonics distributor in Ireland, Emolice can supply direct replacements or recommend upgraded alternatives once we've identified your sensor.
