The POSITAL IXARC Range

Absolute Rotary Encoders

Absolute encoders retain their position when the power is removed. The IXARC absolute range runs to 17-bit single-turn resolution with multiturn capability. Fieldbus options include EtherCAT, PROFINET, CANopen and Modbus. If a specific interface combination is needed it is almost certainly available; the IXARC family has over a million possible configurations.

Incremental Rotary Encoders

High-resolution pulse output for speed and relative position. The latest IXARC incremental magnetic encoders reach 32,768 PPR in housings from 36mm. Resolution and direction are programmable via the UBIFAST tool, which is useful when replacing an older encoder with a non-standard PPR.

Safety Encoders

Certified to SIL2 and Performance Level d with a PROFIsafe interface, for applications where a position measurement failure has safety consequences.

ATEX / IECEx Certified

Zone 2 rated in aluminium and stainless steel housings. Used in pharma solvent areas, grain handling and chemical processing.

Food and Beverage Grade

316L stainless steel housings, IP69K rated for high-pressure washdown. IXARC encoders are used directly on filling lines and packaging equipment in food production.
