    E-Series

    Industrial Position Sensors, Compact Solutions

Temposonics E-Series linear position sensors are compact models for industrial applications where space is a limiting factor. Models include rod variants for cylinder integration (EH, EE), profile variants for external mounting (EP, EL, EP2), a rod-and-cylinder variant (ER), and a high-temperature and hazardous area variant (ET). The E-Series IO-Link supports measurement of up to eight positions simultaneously on a single sensor.

    Key Features

Compact design for installation when space is limited

Rod version (EH) for cylinder integrated measurement

Profile (EP), ultra low profile (EL), and flat profile (EP2) for external mounting

Rod & cylinder housing with strong piston (ER) for flexible mounting

Rod version for embedding in cylinder (EE)

High temperature and hazardous area version (ET) with ATEX, IECEx approvals

Outputs: Analog, CANopen, IO-Link, Start/Stop, SSI

    Temposonics E-Series in Ireland

Temposonics E-Series sensors are the compact, lower-cost option in the industrial range. Resolution is less than 2µm, suitable for most industrial position feedback; where sub-micron resolution is required, the R-Series V is the correct choice. Measuring range 25mm to 2,500mm. Outputs: Analog, CANopen, IO-Link, Start/Stop and SSI.

The E-Series is specified where the installation envelope does not permit a standard-size industrial sensor, or where cost is a primary specification factor and sub-micron resolution is not required. Typical applications include compact hydraulic cylinders on plastics processing machinery, injection moulding equipment and food processing lines; short-stroke axes on packaging machinery and assembly equipment; and position feedback on medical equipment and laboratory automation. The ET variant is specified for the same applications in ATEX and IECEx certified hazardous areas.

    Selection Guidance

The E-Series applies where the installation envelope does not permit a standard-size industrial sensor, where IO-Link integration is required, or where stroke lengths up to 2,500 mm are sufficient. Resolution is below 2 µm. For longer stroke lengths or industrial Ethernet interfaces, consider the R-Series V.

E-Series sensors use the EH, EP, EL, EP2, ER, EE, or ET prefix depending on the configuration. Contact Emolice for selection guidance. Use the Part Number Decoder →

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum stroke length of the E-Series?

The E-Series supports stroke lengths from 25 mm to 2,500 mm.

    Does the E-Series support IO-Link?

Yes. The E-Series IO-Link variant measures up to eight positions simultaneously on a single sensor.

Is the E-Series available for hazardous areas?

Yes, the ET version is ATEX and IECEx certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

How does the E-Series compare to the G-Series V?

The E-Series is more compact and supports IO-Link, while the G-Series V covers longer stroke lengths and TempoLink programmability.
