    G-Series

    Industrial Position Sensors, Backward Compatible

The Temposonics G-Series GTE and GT2/GT3 redundant sensors provide linear position measurement for applications where redundancy is required for safety or availability. Each unit contains two or three independent measuring channels in a single housing. The GTE variant carries ATEX certification for hazardous areas. Standard GH and GP non-redundant variants have been replaced by the G-Series V.

    Key Features

Rod version (GH) for cylinder integrated position measurement

Profile version (GP) for external motion axis measurement

Redundant rod version (GT2/3) with two or three independent measuring systems

Redundant embedded cylinder version (GTE) with ATEX certification

    Outputs: Analog, Start/Stop, PWM

Reliable position measurement for safety and availability requirements

Legacy product. The Temposonics G-Series is being phased out in favour of the G-Series V. Emolice can supply both and cross-reference any existing part number for you.

    Upgrade your G-Series to the G-Series V

The G-Series V is the backward-compatible successor to the G-Series, built on the proven G-Series mechanical platform with the upgraded electronics of the R-Series V. In most analog, PWM and Start/Stop installations it is a direct replacement.

What you gain by moving to the G-Series V

    • Backward compatible mounting, stroke and magnet with G-Series
    • Improved vibration and shock resistance
    • On-site reconfiguration via TempoLink Smart Assistant
    • Analog (0–10 V, 4–20 mA), PWM and Start/Stop outputs
    • Long-term availability, the G-Series is being phased out

    Temposonics G-Series in Ireland

Analog output only. Measuring range 50mm to 3,500mm.

The G-Series redundant range is specified where a single sensor failure on a critical axis must not interrupt position measurement. Typical applications include safety-critical linear axes on industrial presses, die casting machines and process plant where dual or triple redundant position feedback is a machine certification requirement. The GTE is specified for the same applications in ATEX Zone 1 or Zone 2 hazardous areas.

    Selection Guidance

The G-Series covers the redundant range only: GT2 with two independent measuring channels, GT3 with three, and GTE with ATEX certification for hazardous areas. Output is analog, with stroke lengths from 50 mm to 3,500 mm. The non-redundant GH and GP variants have been replaced by the G-Series V.

Redundant G-Series sensors use the GT2, GT3 or GTE prefix. Contact Emolice for selection guidance. Use the Part Number Decoder →

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Which G-Series variants remain available?

The redundant range: GT2, GT3 and GTE. The non-redundant GH and GP variants have been replaced by the G-Series V.

What is the difference between GT2, GT3 and GTE?

GT2 carries two independent measuring channels in one housing, GT3 carries three, and the GTE is an embedded cylinder version with ATEX certification.

What stroke lengths and output does the redundant range cover?

Analog output with stroke lengths from 50 mm to 3,500 mm.

Can the GTE be used in a hazardous area?

Yes, the GTE carries ATEX certification for installation in Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas.
